Marina Towers, Chicago Icons

The Marina Towers buildings are a favorite of mine and are Chicago architectural icons. If I'm anywhere near them, I'll photograph them. They're fun to shoot photos of and to paint. This series of photos was manipulated digitally and contains images from the last 23 years, the most recent taken in the last two weeks and digitally manipulated today. I like how these digital photo manipulations connect to my paintings and vice versa. I printed these out on canvas and they’ll be on display at my solo pop-up show @Swedish American Museum Café: Andersonville Arts Weekend, Oct 3-5.

The Marina City complex was designed in 1959 by architect Bertrand Goldberg and constructed between 1961 and 1968. More info here.
