Figurative
I first learned to draw as a kid by copying the comics out of the newspaper. When I got older, that translated into creating cartoon-style faces and portraits. I used to sit outside on my lunch break at a temp job in Hyde Park and sketch people everyday. These sketches then turned into drawings and I’d pick some to render as paintings. These figurative paintings are created from both my imagination and from reference photos I’ve taken of street scenes and different people’s portraits.
